Job Description
The Tour Guide Trainer is responsible for training and mentoring tour guides to deliver high-quality tours. This role focuses on improving communication, customer service, destination knowledge, and professionalism while ensuring company standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
✔Plan and deliver training programs for new and existing tour guides.
✔Teach tour procedures, storytelling, customer service, and cultural awareness.
✔Train guides on safety procedures and company policies.
✔Evaluate guide performance and provide feedback and coaching.
✔Develop and update training materials based on company guidelines.
✔Ensure guides maintain accurate destination knowledge.
✔Monitor tour quality using feedback and observations.
✔Conduct workshops and refresher training sessions.
✔Maintain training records and prepare basic performance reports.
Requirements:
✔Minimum 3+ years of experience in tourism, hospitality, or tour guiding (training experience is an advantage).
✔Excellent verbal communication skills with a professional presence.
✔Fluency in English and Sinhala OR English and Tamil.
✔Ability to create structured training materials and lesson plans based on company guidelines.
✔Strong training and presentation skills, especially for remote sessions.
✔Availability to work part-time with flexible scheduling.
✔Access to a reliable internet connection and computer for online training (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).
